Long-term care and gerontology; developmental disabilities; health policy; and international and marginalized communities in developing countries

Community Service/Community Research Projects:

  • Dominican Republic Community Health Outreach Project (a one week field experience in the Dominican Republic that is part of a 3 credit course, “Public Health Applications in Developing Countries,” where students and faculty plan and undertake public health interventions, such as parasite prevention, health education and nutrition programs). Focus: Haitian sugar cane workers in the bateys. Partner: Crossroads Mission - Dominican Republic
  • Worked with New Jersey Developmental Disabilities Council (to bring together stakeholders in the developmental disabilities community to conceptualize future directions using an objective telephone survey of key informants, and stakeholders meetings for sharing and discussion of the results). Focus: State of New Jersey
