Brett Hagman, PhD Candidate

Early in his career, Brett Hagman, MA, an SPH PhD candidate in the Department of Health Education and Behavioral Science, began doing research examining alcohol use among college students under the supervision of a clinical psychologist at UNC-Wilmington, earning his MA in clinical psychology at UNC-W in 2004.

"My excitement and desire to continue research in this area led me to SPH and Dr. Patrick Clifford, who is well known in the field of behavioral sciences, particularly regarding individually-based interventions for people with alcohol use disorders.

"The excellent mentoring and one-on-one supervision, the ability to collaborate with other faculty members, and the ability to individualize my course of study as it relates to my training in a specific area of research has solidified SPH as the best choice for me."
