Concentration Competencies for the MPH Degree
Upon graduation, a student with the MPH degree in Health Education and Behavioral Science will be able to:
- Participate in formulation of public health policy, with regard to health education and promotion principles and practices;
- Assess and delineate health education and promotion needs of diverse populations using a variety of techniques;
- Design, implement, conduct and evaluate programs in diverse settings based upon social, psychological, and educational theories utilized in health education and promotion programming;
- Develop and critique health education materials, methods and programs;
- Apply management techniques in health education and health promotion settings; and Conduct behavioral science research.
Concentration Competencies for the PhD Degree
Upon graduation, a student with the PhD degree in Health Education and Behavioral Science will be able to:
- Design and conduct experimental investigations related to health behavior;
- Demonstrate proficiency in the application of univariate and multitvariate analytic techniques;
- Demonstrate ability to critically analyze and interpret the scientific literature;
- Establish a program of focused research; and
- Demonstrate proficiency in behavioral/environmental models of behavior change.
Concentration Competencies for the DrPH Degree
Upon graduation, a student with the DrPH degree in Health Education and Behavioral Science will be able to:
- Critically analyze scientific literature;
- Develop, implement and be able to supervise health-based program;
- Design and coordinate evaluation of health based programs;
- Demonstrate proficiency in program evaluation and related data analysis strategies; and
- Demonstrate proficiency in behavioral/environmental models of behavior change.
